Blue Howlite Turtle Shadow Boxes

Materials: Blue Howlite freeform nuggets, semi-precious stone chips 10 x10 shadow box. 

These Howlite turtle shadow boxes evolved early on in creative expression using semi-precious stones in fall of 2018, similar to the Imperial Sea Jasper story.

Originally I used drilled chips as “fillers” between the wings until I found a local supplier. 

Each turtle takes about 8-10 hours to complete from start to finish. Like my other shadow box creations I will often work on more than one turtle at a time. 

No turtle is the same in shape or stones types, and each one carries its own unique presence.
