Materials: Granite rock and round blue Kyanite cabochons.
Weighs: 7 ounces
Measures: 5 ½” L x 1 ½” H x 1 ½” W
My son discovered this unusual duck-shaped rock on one of our daily walks on May 29, 2020, again amid the Covid-19 stay at home orders. We’ve hiked this local mountain for over 20 years, this time he ventured off to check out some boulders and returned with this prize.
My sons often present me with unusual objects they find on our travels, experience has taught me it’s always something I’m meant to see.
I’m assuming someone ground it down against the surrounding boulders to create this interesting shape, and likely it’s very old since few people take this path. It would be even more amazing if the dinosaur shape was natural.
I chose round blue Kyanite cabochons for the eyes.
More time is needed before I decide it needs anything else. For now it sits among my other rock creatures.
It is a truly amazing find.
