IMPERIAL JASPER BUTTERFLY SHADOW BOXES

Materials: Imperial Sea Jasper nuggets, semi-precious stones, thread, 10 x 10 shadow box.

These butterfly shadow boxes evolved by laying out the Imperial Sea Jasper nuggets until a definite shape emerged, from there it was carefully transferred and secured to the shadow box backing. This style was the beginning of my expressions of working with semi-precious stones in November 2018.

Originally I used drilled chips as “fillers” between the wings until I found a great supplier.

Each butterfly takes about 8-10 hours to complete from start to finish. Like my other shadow box creations I will often work on more than one butterfly at a time to work on.

No butterfly is the same in shape or stones types, and each one carries its own unique energy.
